Craig Green approached us towards the end of 2015, and inspired by a couple of pieces of concept artwork drawn by the incredibly talented Laurie Clifford-Frith, we began working on a concept piece which would eventually become the title track "A New Adventure".
This piece opens with the violin playing the core motif which features in every piece we have written for the soundtrack in some way - listen out for it!
Since then, the guys at Studio Genkan have been feeding us snippets of gameplay footage and artwork, which in turn inspired us to write themes for characters, big drum-filled boss music, creepy ambience, and flowing background music for all manner of settings.
We wrote "From the Shadow" to accompany some of the other exciting gameplay music in the game, but this also ended up featuring in the Kickstarter trailer.
We initially left the conception of "By Torchlight" in the capable hands of Kelly Harlock. Once she had come up with some ideas, we recorded both her piano and incidental singing, before adding our own NoiseHook/Perpetual Night-inspired timbres to it. This proved very effective, and you will likely see more collaborations between Kelly and ourselves in future.
We have already created a lot of material, both music and sound effects, which has been implemented into the game. Check out the Demo and listen out for... well... everything - it's all us! The soundtrack release will accompany the final game, and we're looking forward to sharing it with you.
